HEY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!!!

so we’ve almost been at world race gap year training camp for two weeks– and let me tell you– A LOT has happened!!

training camp is allllllll about getting us and our hearts ready for the field. it’s about learning to live in community with each other and learning how to live in, let’s just say, undesirable conditions. we’ve learned how to bucket shower, eat family style with over thirty people, to live in a tent, wash our clothes in a bucket, and use white vinegar to kill mold that grows on our clothes (and just about everything else). we’ve also learned about the cultures we will be living in and how to effectively buy dinner from a very, very busy market.

most importantly though, we’ve learned about the amazing God we serve and how to live a kingdom lifestyle. these are a few of the things that stuck out to me over the past two weeks:

– God meets us where we are

– my own truth cannot change God’s word

– God will bless all the nations, we just have to submit to Him

– no one is too broken to partner with God

– deepening your understanding of God is critical to deepening your relationship with Him

– to reap the benefits of being saved we must learn to live with a kingdom mindset

– it is not pride to thank God for the gifts he has given you

– life is ministry and ministry is life

– we do not pick and chose when to be a missionary- it is part of our everyday lives

– we must love on purpose

– God is an expert at new beginnings

– the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin- not condemns it

– we are not perfect, but we are forgiven

– His blood does not cover our sin, it removes it

– love keeps no record of wrongs

– the Lord wants our rest

okay, now i know that was a lot. but I’m just so excited to be able to share with you what i’ve learned here so far!

the Lord has done so many amazing things here so far and i can’t wait to see what else He will do!
