HEY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!

This is officially our fourth week in Cambodia and ministry is in full swing! My team and I are still partnering with Hope International School Siem Reap and are absolutely loving our time here! As I’ve mentioned before, they are like one big family; and they have so graciously invited us into their family as teacher assistants, club organizers, yearbook editors, Christmas program planners, and P.E. teachers! The Lord has been so kind to bless us with this ministry!

If you knew me before the race, you know I struggled with the reality of actually coming on the race. I loved the idea of it and said yes to the Lord when I was called to go– but I don’t think I fully realized- I am actually leaving the country for nine months. When I applied in September of 2021, August of 2022 seemed forever away. As the launch date kept inching closer, my resentment for leaving the race grew and grew. On the day of launch, the last thing I wanted to do was get in my car and drive there– but I did. And I’m so thankful this is where the Lord called me. And I’m so grateful he placed these people around me. They have become my family and living in community together is better than I ever imagined. The Lord has been so gentle in letting me in on His plan for me and how this is where I was meant to be in this season all along, even though I couldn’t see it three months ago.

I’ve said my favorite verse was John 13:7, “You do not understand what I am doing now, but someday you will.” In this verse, Jesus is explaining to His twelve disciples why He was washing their feet. Peter tries to tell Jesus why He won’t let Him wash His feet, but the Lord is gentle and tells Him to trust Him, and he will understand the rest later. I often pray over this verse when something is happening in my life that I can’t understand- it reminds me that the Lord understands because He can see the big picture I am unable to see. Over the past three months the Lord has been teaching what it truly means to trust Him and obey when I truly don’t understand- and it has been such a sweet sweet journey.

Also friends, here are some ways you can help and come alongside me and my ministry here on the race:

Prayer-

Prayers for Hope International School as they are going through some transitions. Prayers for the other teams of K squad as they are spread out across the country of Cambodia for the next month and that the hearts of the people they encounter would be softened and opened to the gospel. Prayers for our team as we navigate what it looks like to work and live as a team now that we are the only team living at base.p[

Financially-

We have asked for donations to buy supplies and extra little things for our clubs, students, teachers, and Christmas Program! And thank you so much to everyone that donated— it means the world to us, the students, and the teachers and parents! We have already been able to use that money to put some smiles on some cute kid’s faces and buy some supplies for our clubs! If you would still like to partner with us in this, we would love any donations you are able to give! We want to make these two months here super special and be able to love on the students and teachers are much as possible
